Digital Champion

As a Digital Volunteer you have the opportunity to work alongside librarians and other enthusiastic volunteers to support people taking their first steps online.

What's involved?

  • Assist customers with their basic IT enquiries and support their use of digital devices.
  • To guide customers through basic IT courses hosted on the Learn My Way website.
  • Work with library staff to identify promotional opportunities and signposting customers to other library services
  • Encourage reading and the use of other facilities within their local library
  • Promote membership of Oldham Library and Information Service
  • To run training sessions to complete beginners to help them get started with computers, including keyboard and mouse skills, e-mail and the Internet
  • Promote lifelong learning and signpost to further programmes available
