'The Goldfish Boy' - spread the word about OCD

 

Oldham Theatre Workshop are delighted this Christmas to be bringing to the stage the story of 'The Goldfish Boy' the bestselling story by children's author Lisa Thompson.

The main character inthe story, Matthew suffers from OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) and at Oldham Theatre Workshop our young compnay have been learning about this misunderstood condition.

We would love you to help spread the word and bust the myths surrounding this condition by suporting OCDUK with their October Awareness month. Simply follow their social media @OCDUK  and if you would like to recieve free resources (posters/ leaflets etc) for your school, organisation or workplace just contact OCDUK via e-mail at office@OCDuk.org and submit your postal request and they will send these for free.

The Goldfish Boy by Lisa Thompson This Christmas Oldham Theatre Workshop's young company present the premiere of 'The Goldfish Boy' an adaptation of the best sellling children's book by Lisa Thompson. This intriguing mystery has been turned in to an exciting immersive performance piece for all the family full of twists and turns and heartwarming characters. Matthew likes sparkling clean surfaces, staying safe in his bedroom and making notes about his neighbours. He hates germs, going outside and feeling like a disappointment to his mum and dad. When a toddler staying next door goes missing, Matthew finds himself at the centre of the mystery. Every one of his neighbours is a suspect and Matthew is the key to working out what happened, even as his own secrets begin to unravel. This is a story about finding friendship when all you feel is lonely and hope when all you feel is fear.
