Storyfest Support Volunteer

Help support Oldham Library on 11 July 11am-3pm as we celebrate Storyfest and the launch of the Summer Reading Challenge!

We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help create a fun, welcoming, and engaging experience for local children and families. Duties may include supporting craft activities, supervising games such as ping pong, assisting with family-friendly activities, helping visitors find their way around the event, and encouraging children to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge.

This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who enjoys working with families, engaging with children and young people, and contributing to a lively community event. You will be part of a friendly team, helping to ensure activities run smoothly and that every visitor has a positive experience.

What's involved?

As a Storyfest and Summer Reading Challenge volunteer, you'll help create a fun, welcoming, and engaging experience for children, young people, and families visiting Oldham Library.

You may support a variety of activities throughout the day, including crafts, games, children's activities, and the Summer Reading Challenge sign-up area.We're looking for volunteers who enjoy interacting with people and are passionate about helping visitors have a positive experience at community events.

You'll be welcoming families, encouraging participation in activities, answering questions, and providing assistance where needed.

This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, approachable, and enthusiastic, with the confidence to work in a busy environment where multiple activities may be taking place at once.

You'll work closely with library staff and fellow volunteers to help ensure the event runs smoothly, creating a fun, inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

Volunteers should be reliable, flexible, and willing to get involved wherever support is needed. Whether you're helping with crafts, supervising games, directing visitors, or encouraging children to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, you'll play an important part in making the day a success.
